Geology of The Naze Walk – The Evolution of the Landscape

Location Essex Wildlife Trust The Naze Nature Discovery Centre
This walk reveals the fascinating and unusual geology that has made The Naze such a special place. Mangrove swamps, volcanoes, tropical seas teeming with sharks, arctic tundra, cold seas rich in shellfish. And a time when the river Thames flowed across The Naze.
This walk covers about two miles at a gentle pace and will last about two hours. Please note that it involves descending, steep steps and the terrain can be muddy and slippery. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Possible sightings of various different wildlife may occur. Please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Booking is essential, £7.00 adults, £2 children under 16 toward the conservation efforts of Essex Wildlife Trust.
