About Rev Simpkins
Rev’d Matthew Simpkins is an Anglican priest and boundary-pushing musician, known for blending folk, gospel, and psychedelic elements in bands such as Sons of Joy, Dingus Khan, and FuzzFace. His critically acclaimed album BIG SEA (9/10, Vive Le Rock) was followed by the harmonious SALTINGS (‘a triumph’, FATEA). His latest album—written during a period of illness and recorded with his son Jim—delves into themes of redemption, human experience, and the power of music.
